Having too large of a music collection can be a bad thing, you often forget about the good stuff you've had for years. I guess one positive note about a recession is being able to appreciate what you already have. I've been listening to much more of my old death metal records lately instead of spending money on tracking down the newest "cool" shit, and I have to admit that I forgot how awesome these records were/are.
If anyone knows what the Mangled 1 compilation is, I've only found Mangled 2 (below).... please email me. reptilerobots (at) hotmail (dot) com.
Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent or which countries are part of NAFTA.
I've mentioned to a few people that I had a feature in Terrorizer, which was supposed to be out months ago. Unfortunately their metal cover artist section called "Morbid Visions" section was dropped.
The good news is that it will return in 2009 with a relaunch of their merchandise line and webstore. I will have a feature in Terrorizer, which is a great honor for me since I've been a reader for over 10 years.
You can see the t-shirt I drew in the Killustrations section.
Here's a rough sketch of the artwork for Dragged into Sunlight's "Hatred for Mankind" album . It will be out on Mordgrimm records. Make sure to check them out with Trap Them and Grief on November 23rd if you are in the UK.

I found this page browsing around on some anatomy blogs. Most westerners are used to seeing old anatomy drawings (Grey's Anatomy) depicting the body or face of the person as devoid of life or in some sort of rigid pose. In many of these drawings, the faces have gruesome facial expressions and also show blood and other fluids leaking out. Really amazing imagery.

Please enjoy INDIAN THRILLER (with English subtitles)...
Here's some photos from around San Francisco!
Amazing photography from the show last night! Possibly the best photo I've ever taken at a concert.
Keep an eye out for this around San Francisco - giant posters of Halloween/Occult themed artwork will appear in different areas of the city over the next 13 days.

Finally! The first in a series of super limited, artist designed aQ T-Shirts, featuring original art by some of our favorite artists, who just so happen to be loyal aQ customers as well! Each one will be super special, totally unique, and will only be available for a limited time, as we're only making a finite amount of each.
The first shirt design is by aQ pal and infamous killustrator Justin Bartlett, whose style many of you no doubt will recognize. He's done tons of drawings for Oaken Throne black metal magazine, as well as record covers for grim groups like SUNNO))), Moss, Nadja, Pentemple and loads more. His style is incredible, super detailed, pen and ink with tons of stippling, lots of skulls and guts and demons and various crusty oozing offal. For aQ he's designed a super creepy and super evil mother and child, heads in bags, their rotten innards spilling out, skulls on spikes, and "Aquarius Records" carved into the stone archway in the background. It looks amazing, and will for sure get some eyes a popping as you wander through the grocery store or sit in church (heaven forbid).
The back features a small aQ logo up near the collar, the shirts are white on black, they are Hanes heavyweight T's, 100% preshrunk cotton, and we have sizes all the way from Youth Large (for kids and little ladies) all the way up to XXL (for the big guys).
We will only be selling these for a couple months, so don't miss out. Once they are gone, they won't be reprinted. EVER.
Future aQ Artist Edition T's will include designs by Savage Pencil, Stephen O'Malley, Aaron Turner and more more more!!!

Parlamentarisk Sodomi - "Parlamentarisk Sodomi"
Norway, 2006: An unbelievably creepy coalition regime of unsexy centralist parties fumble through their responsibilities with brainsmashing recklessness - not unlike a drunk, puking punk attempting to masturbate - leaving the population astonished with threats of horrible war, annihilated infants, tedious bureaucracy and really bad sex. In an attempt to rectify these bitch-like conditions, a grindcore band named Parlamentarisk Sodomi is formed, not only to reprimand soiled, abused freedoms, not only to administrate true Norwegian sodomy, but to kinkify the future with indecent rethoric, politically correct power chords and semen drenched no-confidence votes.
Parlamentarisk Sodomi is a very vaguely organized lobbyist guerrilla surrounded by puzzling myth and infamy. Papirmøllen, the band's only member, rarely appears in public, if so usually to throw dildos and pornographic manifests at local politicians. Being highly ambitious, this sicko has taken it upon himself to soil and redefine the very foundations of parliamentarism, voting, freedom and buttsex.
The hippies, poets, philosophers, political science students and drunkards who constitute Parlamentarisk Sodomi's fanbase are hornily awaiting the release of the debut album "Har du sagt "a" får du si "nal"". Fjords, forests and glaciers worldwide are trembling with fear. Fuck all systems at the same time!

Here's a logo I designed for Apoptygma Berzerk which has found it's way onto some girl's back (she's probably German... German's love Apop and David Hasselhoff).

I've gotten a few emails in regards to Upper Playground's online store. Seems that there's been a lot of bugs in it; items disappear and then reappear, making it somewhat difficult to purchase my prints.

I've made some progress on what will be the largest piece I've ever drawn. Mandatory crappy cell phone image.
From MILWHORE via the DFFD forum in response to several mainstream music vendors and "big box" stores now selling vinyl LPs and inexpensive (cheap pieces of crap) turntables:
I personally think this will be a passing fad. I was at my local Best Buy and they had a stack of record players in the middle of an isle. So like a moth to a flame I had to see what they had. Now imagine this, have you ever picked something up thinking it was going to be heavy only for it to be light as a feather? When I picked the record player up I about tossed it across the store! Can’t remember the brand but its key feature was USB instead of RCA, enabling the user to rip vinyl right off the table…LAME. The TT was made of thinly molded plastic, holding the base with both hands I could flex it…huh? I turned it over to see the platter was also made of thin plastic, but the top feature was a lighter than air plastic tone arm. I’m guessing so you don’t ruin your vinyls the one time your are ripping them to MP3 format, or some shit.
So this is what the music industry is going to serve the consumers, shit records, with shit players geared towards ripping to a shit format. Point lost, money made.
This will turn off a lot of people to this format. Consumers new to this format will not understand what all the hype is about in regards to superior sound and all that shit. And people feeling all nostalgic n’ shit will be disappointed with the poor quality of it all.
With this new resurgence of vinyl I think only a small hand full of the “mainstream” consumers will pursue this refound format and all the proper gear in its various quality levels needed to full enjoy it.
Bottom line, it is a very cheap ploy by the music industry to get mainstream consumers to purchase a tangible product, so they can make $$$. And as Eiren said to stop illegal downloading.
Eventually I will post these in the portfolio section when they are printed. Clockwise from top left - Watain 2008 North American tour poster, Creature skateboards illustration and goat mask freebie, Nadja "Trembled" on Utech Records, and Dead Raven Choir drawing for Oaken Throne magazine.
To Whom it May Concern:
My name is Sharon and I am working for Babe Ruthless Productions on Drew Barrymore's directorial debut "Whip It".
I am contacting you because we are shooting an interior at the Waterloo Record store in Austin Texas. Pentemple has a CD (Pentemple) on a wall display in the store that may or may not be in the shot. We are requesting a release of the CD image for use in this shot only as background set dressing.
I've attached a release form for your consideration. Please let me know if this is something you can assist with or if you could forward this to the appropriate person for release. The release form can be faxed or emailed. Please contact me if you have questions or concerns. My contact information is listed below.
Thanks in advance for your assistance. Your time is greatly appreciated.
Best,
~Sharon
